The Kenya Covid-19 Health Emergency Response Project (C-HERP) was initiated in 2020 as the World Bank’s Multi-Phase Programmatic Approach for Strategic Preparedness and Response to the Covid 19 Pandemic.
The ministry asked us to support implementation of GoK’s risk communication and community engagement strategy, support MoH in ensuring effective coordination of communication activities and messaging at all levels to avoid misinformation and duplication of efforts or gaps in services and to provide guidance on communication to the technical teams for the other 6 components of the Kenya COVID-19 Health Emergency Response Project.
We kicked off the assignment by revising the communication strategy in close consultation with stakeholders in the health sector. Following this, we provided the following support to MOH - digital communication support, creative design, media relations, photography and videography, community and FBO engagement, and tracking and monitoring conversations around Covid 19 in mainstream media and social.
- Over 8,000 news pieces of local editorial
- More than 1000 social media artworks have been developed
12307 Social media mentions & 74 Million Social Media Impressions (Impressions are the number of times a post about MOH is displayed online) - Documentation support around key events and milestones
- Overall positive tonality of 44% and Neutral tonality of 54
