Apex Porter Novelli marks new Growth Phase as it appoints Josiah Mwangi as the Deputy Managing Director

21st October 2022: Apex Porter Novelli (APN), a full-service Public Relations and Strategic Communications Agency, is delighted to announce the appointment of Josiah Mwangi as the Deputy Managing Director (DMD). Until his appointment, Josiah was the Director in charge of Client Development and Strategic Services.

As the DMD, he will work alongside the Managing Director and the Advisory Board of Directors to plan, develop, and execute business strategies that deliver sustainable and profitable growth of APN. He will oversee all the business operating units with all the heads reporting to him.

Josiah has a wealth of experience spanning nearly 20 years in the communications and public relations industry. He has worked with leading development partners, global multinationals, government ministries and agencies in several countries in Sub-Saharan Africa in the design and roll out of communication programmes.

A trained Porter Novelli Insights Master, Josiah has helped design and execute campaigns that have won awards at the global and national level. Among the award winning campaigns he has overseen include the Lifebuoy Handwashing Challenge, which was named among the top 10 campaigns of the last decade. Josiah has great interest in sustainability and the role communication plays in helping businesses express their purpose.

Making the announcement, APN Managing Director, Lawrence Gikaru has said Josiah will also work with the executive management team to establish long range goals, strategies, plans and policies and create an enabling environment that promotes staff commitment to their work. To provide more stronger coordination, coherent delivery at the client level, among the teams.

“As part of his leadership role, Josiah will provide strategic leadership to the business operating units of the company and oversee all operations and business activities in the dockets of business development, client services, creatives, digital, eventing and production among other focus areas. In doing so, he will work in collaboration with respective leaders of the operating units of the business and mentors the directors of these divisions, with key focus on result delivery.”, said Mr. Gikaru.

His appointment marks yet another milestone in the evolution of APN as he will spearhead a new phase of growth for the Agency which has won multiple industry awards over the years.
